On The way from Robourne to Broome, we stopped in at the Whim Creek Pub (About 64kms north of Robourne) for a sticky beak.
It has been closed down for a while and they are in the process of re-opening it.
They have a small bird aviary out the back and it's all looking good.
After a drink and a sandwich we cruised on up to Yule River for the night. It's about 56kms north of Whim Creek and 70kms south of South Hedland. Celebrated Bob's birthday here. Nanny's learning how to take some good shots now.
The next morning we went on to South Hedland for some food shopping. Nothing real interesting there.
Pardoo Roadhouse Caravan Park was the next stop. It's about 120km north of Hedland. We camped here for 2 days. Nice little park, but gets packed every night. You have to be there by midday to get a powered site. We were lucky and got the pick of the park. Right on the end , under a beautiful big tree. Richard and Maureen caught up and stayed the night as well.
After Pardoo we carried on up via Sandfire Roadhouse. Nanny got some shots of the peacocks that were running all round the car park.
The next overnight spot was Goldwire, 150kms south of Broome. Richard and Maureen turned up there as well. They are travelling with friends (Mary & Ed) and it was Ed's birthday so we had another piss up.
Lobbed in Broome 16th and will be here for 3 nights.
It's all a bit sketchy from here to Kununurra. Not sure how phone coverage will be so the blog might be a bit broken again..
